The 2013 edition of Essence by Sanserif Creatius exhibition will be part of the official acts of the Spain-Japan Dual Year.

After being nominated finalist in the National Craftsmanship Awards in 2012 and receiving a honourable mention in the Tortola Design Week (2012), the exhibition Essence opens a new stage in its second edition, supported by the organizing committee for the Spain-Japan Dual Year, which has included it as part of the official events to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the mission of the Keicho Embassy in Europe.

Essence 2013, whose central point will be the Japanese inspiration in the Valencian craftsmanship, will present about twenty collaborations between the designers of Sanserif Creatius and artisans from the Valencian Community. Its purpose is to develop a collection of pieces where we find a hybridization of both cultures and that, in a future, will be included in the new shop of the Arts and Crafts Centre of the Valencian Community; Sibarita Shop.

The aim of this project, supported by the Valencia Regional Government (Generalitat Valenciana) and Fundesarte, is, starting from the techniques and materials used traditionally by artisans, to configure new proposals that open the market for stagnate products and sectors, by reconfiguring their use and brining them closer to the consumer.

The exhibition will be opened from the 29th of November 2013 until the 20th of February 2014 in the Arts and Crafts Centre of the Valencian Community.
