The training in product design with artisanal techniques and its comercialisation are the two aspects that the Spanish Foundation for Innovation of Craftsmanship (Fundesarte) focuses on in its colaboration to the project “Empowering economically the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon at risk of social exclusion ” led by the NGO Cives Mundi.

This project, funded by the European Commission, aims to improve the quality of life of Palestinian artisan women who live in the refugee camps of Lebanon. In addition to the particular situation in which they inhabit, the Palestinian artisan women have financial difficulties and are socially disadvantaged . The beneficiaries are the artisan needlewomen of traditional Palestinian “Tatreez”, who are living in the Palestinian refugee camps Rashidieh (Tyre), Ein El Helwe (Sidon) and Beddawi (Tripoli).
