The Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas (MNAD) hosts until the 12th July and then from the 15th to the 27th September 2015 the exhibition “20 Años de Joya de Autor en España” organised by the Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte, the own MNAD and the Asociación de Diseñadores de Joyas de Autor (AJA).
The main objective of this commemorative exhibition is showing the evolution and the development of the Author Jewellery in Spain along the last two decades, taking as a referent the activity developed by the members of the Asociación de Diseñadores de Joyas de Autor.
To achieve this purpose, the AJA has selected 16 designers of author jewellery coming from different points of the Spanish geography that offer 16 different and complementary points of view. Some of them are professionals with high prestige and with a long professional career in this field, while others are young promises that have showed innovative willpower. In the jewellery pieces created by these authors converge a huge variety of techniques, styles and meanings that articulate in each case a particular speech.
