The Comunitat Valenciana Crafts Awards has reached its third edition, becoming an essential date for the sector. Moreover, it is a platform to promote a new way of understanding crafts, not only as an element of cultural survival, but as an indicator of vanguard, equality of opportunities and sustainable growth. This is the approach aimed in the 32 selected projects of the six categories of this edition – ‘Craftswomen’, ‘Coopetitivitat’, ‘Sustainability and Crafts’, `Tradition’, ‘Vanguard’ and ‘Food Crafts’ –.

These awards gather craft products and services in which excellence is combined with functionality and the answer to new necessities and/or aesthetic innovations that indicate a starting point for the new Valencian crafts. This is sector that plays an important role in the series of economic activities of this autonomy. That is translated into over one hundred trades and almost 3.200 businesses recognised with the Crafts Qualification Document (D.C.A.), which generates more than 30.000 employment opportunities and a business volume of 19.000 million of euros.

While this year’s awarded are still pending, we will go through the profile of all the artisans nominated as finalists in this third edition. Good luck to everyone.
