‘El Espacio de las Artes’ of El Corte Inglés of Castellana (Raimundo Fernández Villaverde Street, 79) had embraced the exhibition “Material, Light and Sound”.

The exhibition gathers the result of different artisan crafts, which techniques ensemble materials and creativity. This expresses the evolution of a contemporary artisanry. Clay, varnish, ink, paper, wood or lacquer are the elements that communicate light, polychromy and sound to the different exhibited works. And, what makes us discover the value of handmade craftsmanship is these engravings made with mezzotint techniques, refractory mud meninas, polished ceramic cactus and electronic guitars. The participating artisans are: Daniel Cabezas Terrados, Lina Cofán, Rosa Luis Elordui, Ramiro Undabeytia and Pepa Castillo.

This exhibition is the fifth one of the series commenced in 2013, which is the result of a collaboration with the Community of Madrid and El Corte Inglés – Espacio de las Artes. It is also a part of the program “Artesanía es Más” to foment knowledge of the artisanal world and to empower competition of the artisanal elaboration.
